Ingredients:

  • 1 box Triple chocolate cake mix 🍫
  • 1 box Strawberry cake mix πŸ“
  • 1 box French Vanilla cake mix 🍦

  • Oil πŸ«’ (as per box instructions)
  • Water πŸ’§ (as per box instructions)
  • Vanilla Frosting:
  • 3 cups unsalted butter, softened 🧈
  • 6 cups powdered sugar 🍚
  • 2 tablespoons pure vanilla extract 🍨
  • 5-7 tablespoons heavy whipping cream

  • Chocolate Ganache:

  • 1 1/2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips 
  • 3/4 cup heavy whipping cream πŸ₯›

  • Decorating:

  • Maraschino cherries πŸ’
  • Sprinkles 🌈
  • Sliced bananas 🍌
  • Chopped peanuts πŸ₯œ

Instructions:

1️⃣ Preheat & Prep: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and spray three cake pans with baking spray.

2️⃣ Make the Cake Layers: Prepare the cake batters according to the directions on the boxes. Fill each pan 3/4 full with one flavor of cake batter. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Allow the cakes to cool completely.

3️⃣ Prepare the Frosting: Using a stand mixer, beat the softened butter, powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and heavy whipping cream until smooth and stiff peaks form. Scoop 1 1/2 cups of frosting into a piping bag and set aside.

4️⃣ Assemble the Cake:

Level the tops of the cooled cakes using a cake leveler.
Place the strawberry cake layer on a cake board. Add a layer of sliced bananas and 1 1/2 cups of frosting, smoothing it evenly.
Place the chocolate cake layer on top of the strawberry layer, add another layer of sliced bananas, and frost with 1 1/2 cups of frosting.
Top with the vanilla cake layer and frost the entire cake with the remaining frosting.
5️⃣ Decorate the Cake:

Cover the bottom edge of the cake with sprinkles.
Make the Ganache: Heat the heavy whipping cream in a small pot until steaming. Pour the hot cream over the chocolate chips in a heat-proof bowl. Let it sit for 1 minute, then whisk until smooth.
Pour the ganache into a squeeze bottle and pipe drips around the edge of the cake, filling in the top center with ganache.
Refrigerate the cake for 30 minutes to set the ganache.
Once set, pipe dollops of frosting on top of the cake, sprinkle with chopped peanuts, and top each dollop with a maraschino cherry.
