Double Chocolate Banana Layer Cake
Ingredients:
For the Chocolate Banana Cake:
🍌 3 ripe bananas, mashed🍚 2 cups all-purpose flour

🥄 1 teaspoon baking powder

☕ 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
🍚 1 ½ cups granulated sugar
For the Chocolate Frosting:
🍫 1 cup unsalted butter, softened🍫 3 ½ cups powdered sugar
🍫 ¾ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
🥛 ½ cup heavy cream
☕ 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
🧂 Pinch of salt
For Garnish:
🍫 Chocolate shavings🍌 Banana slices
Directions:
Prepare the Cake:Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line two 9-inch cake pans.
In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
In a large bowl, beat eggs, sugar, buttermilk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract. Stir in mashed bananas.
Gradually add dry ingredients to wet ingredients, mixing until combined.
Pour batter evenly into prepared pans and bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
Allow cakes to cool completely before frosting.
Prepare the Chocolate Frosting:
In a large bowl, beat butter until light and fluffy.
Gradually add powdered sugar and cocoa powder, mixing well.
Add heavy cream, vanilla extract, and salt, then beat until smooth and creamy.
Assemble the Cake:
Place one cake layer on a serving plate and spread a generous layer of chocolate frosting.
Add the second cake layer and frost the top and sides evenly.
Garnish with chocolate shavings and banana slices.
Chill & Serve:
Let the cake sit for 30 minutes before slicing for best results.
