Decadent Cookie Dough Dream Cake

📋 Ingredients:

  • For the Chocolate Cake:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1¾ cups granulated sugar
  • ¾ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 2 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • ½ cup vegetable oil
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup hot coffee (or hot water for milder flavor)

  • For the Edible Cookie Dough Filling:

  • ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
  • ½ cup light brown sugar, packed
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 tbsp milk (or cream)
  • 1 cup heat-treated all-purpose flour (baked at 350°F for 5 mins)
  • ½ cup mini chocolate chips

  • For the Buttercream Frosting:

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 4 cups powdered sugar
  • ¼ cup cocoa powder
  • ¼ cup heavy cream or milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt

  • For Garnish:

  • Mini chocolate chips
  • Crushed chocolate chip cookies 🍪
  • Drizzle of chocolate ganache (optional)

👩‍🍳 Directions:

1️⃣ Bake the Chocolate Cake:
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line three 8-inch cake pans.
Whisk together dry ingredients, then mix in eggs, buttermilk, oil, and vanilla. Slowly stir in hot coffee.
Divide batter into pans and bake 25–30 minutes. Cool completely.
2️⃣ Make the Edible Cookie Dough:
Cream butter & sugars, mix in vanilla & milk, then stir in heat-treated flour and mini chocolate chips. Set aside.
3️⃣ Prepare the Buttercream:
Beat butter until creamy, then add powdered sugar, cocoa, cream, vanilla, and salt. Mix until fluffy.
4️⃣ Assemble the Cake:
Layer cake with buttercream & dollops of cookie dough between each layer. Frost the entire cake with buttercream.
5️⃣ Decorate & Serve:
Garnish with cookie crumbles, mini chocolate chips, and an optional ganache drizzle for extra indulgence. Refrigerate for 1 hour before slicing.
