- ½ cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, melted
- ¾ cup brown sugar, packed
- ¼ cup pure maple syrup
- 1 large egg
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 ¼ cups all-purpose flour
- ½ tsp baking powder
- ¼ tsp salt
- ½ tsp cinnamon (optional, but recommended)
- ¾ cup chopped pecans, toasted

Add the egg and vanilla extract, whisking until fully combined.
In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon.
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, stirring until just combined. Do not overmix.
Fold in the toasted pecans and white chocolate chips (if using).
Spread the batter evenly into the prepared baking pan.
Bake for 22–25 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
