Ingredients:

- 1 cup (125 grams) all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup (30 grams) unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 4 large eggs
- 1 cup (200 grams) granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup (120 milliliters) whole milk
- 1/4 cup (60 grams) unsalted butter, melted
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line the bottom cake pan with parchment paper.

In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.

In a large mixing bowl, beat the eggs and granulated sugar together until light and fluffy. This will take about 5-7 minutes.

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the egg mixture, mixing until just combined.

In a small saucepan, heat the milk and melted butter until just about to boil. Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract.

Gradually add the hot milk mixture to the batter, mixing until smooth.

Divide the batter evenly between the prepared cake pans.

Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cakes comes out clean.

Allow the cakes to cool in the pans for 10 minutes, then transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely.
