Recipe for Lattice Pattern Celebration Cake🎂

Ingredients:

  • Cake:

  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, room temperature
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup whole milk

  • Frosting:

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, room temperature
  • 4 cups powdered sugar
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Pink food coloring

Instructions:

1.Preheat Oven:

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a rectangular cake pan.

2.Prepare Cake Batter:

-In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.

-In a large bowl, beat the butter and sugar together until light and fluffy.

-Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Mix in the vanilla extract.

-Gradually add the flour mixture to the butter mixture, alternating with the milk, beginning and ending with the flour mixture. Mix until just combined.

3.Bake the Cake:

-Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and smooth the top.

-Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

-Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

4.Prepare Frosting:

-In a large bowl, beat the butter until creamy.

-Gradually add the powdered sugar, one cup at a time, beating well after each addition.

-Add the heavy cream and vanilla extract, and beat until the frosting is light and fluffy.

-Divide the frosting into two portions. Leave one portion white and color the other portion pink using the pink food coloring.

5.Decorate the Cake:

-Spread a thin layer of white frosting over the entire cake as a crumb coat. Chill the cake for 15 minutes.

-Apply a thicker layer of white frosting over the cake.

-Use a piping bag fitted with a small round tip to pipe the lattice pattern on the top of the cake.

-Pipe small pink dots at the intersections of the lattice.

-Use a piping bag fitted with a large star tip to pipe pink rosettes around the border of the cake.

-Use a piping bag fitted with apetal tip to create the ruffled white frosting design on the sides of the cake.
