Instructions
Step 1: Make the Chocolate CakePreheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line three 8-inch round cake pans.
In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
Add the eggs, milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract. Mix until well combined.
Gradually add the boiling water, stirring until the batter is smooth (it will be thin).
Divide the batter evenly among the prepared pans. Bake for 25–30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Let the cakes cool in the pans for 10 minutes, then transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely.
Step 2: Make the Nutella Buttercream
In a large bowl, beat the softened butter until creamy.
Gradually add the powdered sugar, beating until smooth.
Mix in the Nutella, heavy cream, and vanilla extract. Beat until light and fluffy.
Step 3: Assemble the Cake
Place one cake layer on a serving plate. Spread a generous layer of Nutella buttercream on top.
Repeat with the second cake layer and more buttercream. Place the final cake layer on top and frost the entire cake with the remaining buttercream.
Step 4: Make the Nutella Ganache
Heat the heavy cream until just simmering. Pour it over the Nutella in a bowl. Let sit for 2 minutes, then whisk until smooth and glossy.
Let the ganache cool slightly before pouring it over the frosted cake, letting it drip down the sides.
Step 5: Decorate
Decorate the top of the cake with Ferrero Rocher chocolates, chocolate sprinkles, and drizzles of Nutella.
Chill the cake for at least 30 minutes before slicing to allow the layers to set.
Tips
Make ahead: You can bake the cake layers a day in advance. Wrap them tightly and store them at room temperature.
Storage: Store the cake in the refrigerator for up to 5 days. Bring it to room temperature before serving.
Extra indulgence: Add a layer of Nutella between the cake layers for more flavor.
Enjoy your Nutella Overload Cake, a show-stopping dessert guaranteed to impress! 🍫
