- 2 cups heavy whipping cream (cold)
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
-
For Decoration:
- Multicolored sprinkles
- Powdered sugar (for dusting)
Instructions:
Prepare the Cake Layers: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line two 8-inch round cake pans with parchment paper.
Mix the Dry
Ingredients:
In a bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.
Cream Butter and Sugar: In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened butter and sugar together until light and fluffy.
Add Eggs and Vanilla: Beat in the eggs, one at a time, ensuring each is fully incorporated. Add the vanilla extract and mix well.
Combine Wet and Dry
Ingredients:
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, alternating with the milk. Begin and end with the dry ingredients. Mix until just combined; do not overmix.
Bake the Cakes: Divide the batter evenly between the prepared pans. Smooth the tops and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
Cool the Cakes: Allow the cakes to cool in the pans for 10 minutes, then transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely.
Prepare the Frosting: In a chilled bowl, whip the heavy cream with powdered sugar and vanilla extract until stiff peaks form.
Assemble the Cake:
Place one cake layer on a serving plate.
Spread a thick layer of whipped cream frosting evenly over the top.
Add the second cake layer on top and spread frosting over the top of the cake, leaving the sides bare for a rustic look.
Decorate: Dust the top of the cake with powdered sugar. Pipe decorative swirls of whipped cream on the top and sprinkle generously with multicolored sprinkles.
Decoration Tips:
Use a cake turntable for easy and even frosting application.
Add extra sprinkles around the base of the cake for a fun and festive touch.
Serve on a white or neutral-toned cake stand to let the vibrant colors pop.
For a party look, add edible glitter or small edible stars alongside the sprinkles.
Happy Baking
