Ingredients:

  • For the Cake:

  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, room temperature
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup milk

  • For the Mirror Glaze:

  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2/3 cup sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 tablespoon gelatin powder
  • 1/4 cup water (for blooming gelatin)
  • 1 cup white chocolate chips
  • Red food coloring

  • For Decoration:

  • Whipped cream
  • Cherry
  • Chocolate pieces

Instructions:

For the Cake:

1.Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a heart-shaped cake pan.

2.In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.

3.In a large bowl, beat the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.

4.Gradually add the flour mixture to the butter mixture, alternating with the milk, beginning and ending with the flour mixture. Mix until just combined.

5.Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Let the cake cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then turn out onto a wire rack to cool completely.

For the Mirror Glaze:

1.In a small bowl, sprinkle the gelatin over 1/4 cup of water and let it bloom for 5 minutes.

2.In a medium saucepan, combine 1/2 cup water, sugar, and sweetened condensed milk. Heat over medium heat, stirring constantly, until the sugar is dissolved and the mixture is hot but not boiling.

3.Remove from heat and add the bloomed gelatin, stirring until completely dissolved.

4.Pour the hot mixture over the white chocolate chips in a heatproof bowl. Let sit for 5 minutes, then stir until smooth. Add red food coloring until the desired shade is achieved.

5.Let the glaze cool to about 90°F (32°C) before pouring over the cake.

To Assemble:

1.Place the cooled cake on a wire rack set over a baking sheet to catch excess glaze.

2.Pour the mirror glaze over the cake, letting it drip down the sides. Use a spatula to smooth the glaze if necessary.

3.Let the glaze set for a few minutes, then transfer the cake to a serving plate.

4.Decorate the top with whipped cream, a cherry, and chocolate pieces as shown in the image.
