Eggless scones

Eggless scones

Ingredients

  • 15 cups of all purpose flour
  • Or you can use self raising
  • 750g margarine
  • 16tsp baking powder
  • 2tsp baking soda
  • Half tsp salt
  • 3 cups sugar
  • 2tsp vanilla or lemon essence
  • Or a mixture of 1 vanilla n 1 lemon
  • Amasi/ sour cream +- 1.2L can be less or more I don't normally measure

NB: all the ingredients must be cold

Instructions

Sift flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt then add sugar and mix everything.
Grate margarine to the flour mixture and mix using your finger tips till resembles breadcrumbs.
Mix amasi with vanilla or lemon
Make a well and pour the wet ingredients
Gently mix everything together until just combine don't overwork your dough otherwise your scones will be hard.
On a flourwered surface Gently roll your dough with a rolling pin and cut.
Bake at Preheat oven at 180degrees for +-20min or till golden brown.

Have flaky but soft scones that last for longer
