Celebration Cake...
or a "Candy-Decorated Cake"🎂🧁🍰 due to the various candies and decorations on top.
Ingredients:
- For the Cake:
- 250 grams all-purpose flour
- 200 grams granulated sugar
- 200 grams unsalted butter, room temperature
- 4 large eggs (about 200 grams)
- 10 grams baking powder
- 120 milliliters (about 120 grams) milk
- 5 milliliters (about 5 grams) vanilla extract
- For the Frosting:
- 250 grams unsalted butter, softened
- 500 grams powdered sugar
- 30 milliliters (about 30 grams) milk
- 5 milliliters (about 5 grams) vanilla extract
- Pink and purple food coloring (as needed)
- For the Decorations:
- Assorted candies (jelly beans, gumdrops): 100 grams
- Chocolate-covered treats: 50 grams
- Marshmallow-like decorations: 50 grams
Instructions:
1.Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F). Grease and flour a rectangular cake pan.
2.Prepare the Cake Batter:
-In a mixing bowl, cream the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
-Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
-Stir in the vanilla extract.
-In a separate bowl, combine the flour and baking powder.
-Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, alternating with the milk. Mix until just combined.
3.Bake the Cake:
-Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan.
-Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
-Allow the cake to cool completely on a wire rack.
4.Prepare the Frosting:
-In a large bowl, beat the butter until creamy.
-Gradually add the powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract, and continue to beat until smooth and fluffy.
-Divide the frosting and add food coloring as desired.
5.Assemble and Decorate the Cake:
-Frost the cooled cake with the white frosting.
-Use the colored frosting to create decorative swirls along the edges.
-Decorate the top of the cake with assorted candies, chocolate-covered treats, and marshmallow-like decorations.
