Recipe for a Celebration Cake:
Ingredients:
- For the Cake:
- All-purpose flour: 250 grams
- Granulated sugar: 200 grams
- Unsalted butter: 200 grams (softened)
- Eggs: 4 large (approximately 200 grams)
- Baking powder: 10 grams
- Milk: 120 grams
- Vanilla extract: 5 grams
- For the Buttercream Frosting:
- Unsalted butter: 250 grams (softened)
- Powdered sugar: 500 grams
- Milk: 30 grams
- Vanilla extract: 5 grams
- Food coloring (yellow and green): as needed
Instructions:
1.Prepare the Cake:
-Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F). Grease and flour a square cake pan.
-In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
-Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Mix in the vanilla extract.
-In a separate bowl, sift together the flour and baking powder. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, alternating with the milk, beginning and ending with the dry ingredients. Mix until just combined.
-Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top.
-Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Allow the cake to cool completely before frosting.
2.Prepare the Buttercream Frosting:
-In a large bowl, beat the butter until creamy.
-Gradually add the powdered sugar, beating until smooth.
-Add the milk and vanilla extract, and beat until light and fluffy. Divide the frosting into portions for different colors.
3.Assemble and Decorate:
-Once the cake has cooled, frost the entire cake with a layer of buttercream.
-Use the colored buttercream to pipe the flowers, leaves, and decorative elements as shown in the image.
