Instructions:
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line two 9-inch round cake pans.Mix dry ingredients: In two separate bowls, mix the dry ingredients for both the dark and light chocolate cake layers. Set aside.
Prepare wet ingredients: In a large bowl, whisk together sugar, eggs, milk, oil, and vanilla extract. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, one type of chocolate mix for each layer.
Bake the cakes: Pour the batter into the prepared pans and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean. Allow the cakes to cool completely before assembling.
Prepare the cream cheese frosting: Beat the cream cheese and butter together until smooth. Add the powdered sugar and vanilla, mixing until light and fluffy.
Prepare the strawberry buttercream: Beat the butter until creamy, then gradually add powdered sugar and salt. Add the strawberry puree and vanilla extract. Beat until smooth, adding food coloring for a more vibrant pink.
Assemble the cake: Place the dark chocolate layer on a serving plate. Spread a thick layer of cream cheese frosting, followed by a layer of fresh strawberries. Top with the light chocolate cake and frost the entire cake with the pink strawberry buttercream.
Finish with cheese strips: Gently place strips of sharp cheese on the top and sides of the cake for an elegant finish.
Garnish and serve: Garnish with fresh strawberries and serve a beautiful slice to enjoy the vibrant colors and flavors!
