Simple Italian Tart with 12 tablespoons 🇮🇹

1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
12 tablespoons granulated sugar (3/4 cup)
3 large eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 cup whole milk
Zest of 1 lemon
Powdered sugar (for dusting)
Step By Step💥
1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9-inch round pan.
2. In a medium bowl, combine flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
3. In a large bowl, beat the softened butter and granulated sugar with an electric mixer until light and fluffy.
4. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract and lemon zest.
5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, alternating with the milk, beginning and ending with the dry ingredients. Mix until just combined.
6. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and spread evenly.
7. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
8. Remove the cake from the oven and allow it to cool in the pan for 10 minutes. Transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
9. Once cooled, dust the top of the cake with powdered sugar before serving.
