Chocolate Ganache Cake 🌟

Ingredients:

  • Cake:

  • 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour 🌾
  • 2 cups granulated sugar 🍬
  • 3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder 🍫
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder 🥄
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda 🥄
  • 1 teaspoon salt 🧂
  • 1 teaspoon espresso powder ☕
  • 1 cup buttermilk 🥛
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil 🌻
  • 2 large eggs 🥚
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract 🌼
  • 1 cup boiling water 💧

  • Ganache:

  • 1 1/2 cups heavy cream 🥛
  • 18 oz semisweet chocolate, finely chopped 
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter 🧈

Directions:

1️⃣ Preheat Oven: To 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch cake pans and line with parchment paper.

2️⃣ Mix Dry Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, cocoa, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and espresso powder.

3️⃣ Add Wet Ingredients: Add buttermilk, vegetable oil, eggs, and vanilla to the dry ingredients and mix on medium speed until well combined.

4️⃣ Add Boiling Water: Reduce speed and carefully add boiling water to the cake batter until well combined. The batter will be thin.

5️⃣ Bake: Distribute cake batter evenly between the two prepared cake pans. Bake for 30-35 minutes, until a toothpick or cake tester inserted in the center comes out clean.

6️⃣ Cool: Remove from the oven and allow to cool for about 10 minutes, then remove from the pans and cool completely on a wire rack.

7️⃣ Prepare Ganache: Heat cream in a small saucepan over medium heat until it begins to simmer. Pour over chopped chocolate in a heat-proof bowl. Let sit for a minute, then stir until smooth and glossy. Add butter and stir until melted and combined. Let cool to room temperature.

8️⃣ Assemble Cake: Place one cake layer on your serving plate. Spread a layer of ganache over it. Place the second layer on top and frost the outside of the cake with the remaining ganache.

9️⃣ Garnish: Optionally, decorate with chocolate shavings, fresh berries, or edible gold flakes for an extra touch of elegance.
