Homemade Burgers
Ingredients:
- 2 lbs ground beef (preferably lean)
- 1 large egg
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
- 2 tablespoons ketchup
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
- Burger buns and your choice of toppings (lettuce, tomato, cheese, etc.)
Directions:
1. In a large bowl, mix together the ground beef, egg, breadcrumbs, onion, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, salt, and pepper until well combined.2. Divide the mixture into 8 equal portions and shape each into a patty.
3. Place the patties on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, not touching. If making ahead, cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for up to 24 hours, or freeze for longer storage.
4. When ready to cook, preheat the grill to medium-high heat.
5. Grill the burgers for about 5 minutes per side for medium, or until they reach your desired level of doneness.
6. Serve on buns with your favorite toppings.
