Black Velvet Cake ๐Ÿ–ค๐Ÿฐ

Ingredients:

- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup packed brown sugar
- 3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 2 teaspoons baking soda
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 2 large eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1 cup hot brewed coffee
- 1/2 cup dark chocolate chips (optional)
- 1 batch cream cheese frosting (recipe below)

Cream Cheese Frosting:

- 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 4 cups powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Directions:

1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, brown sugar, cocoa powder, baking soda, baking powder, and salt until well combined.
3. In a separate bowl, whisk together buttermilk, vegetable oil, eggs, and vanilla extract until smooth.
4. Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, stirring until just combined.
5. Stir in hot brewed coffee until the batter is smooth and well combined. Fold in dark chocolate chips if desired.
6. Divide the batter evenly between the prepared cake pans.
7. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cakes comes out clean.
8. Remove the cakes from the oven and let them cool in the pans for 10 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
9. While the cakes are cooling, prepare the cream cheese frosting. In a mixing bowl, beat together softened cream cheese and unsalted butter until smooth and creamy. Gradually add powdered sugar and vanilla extract, beating until light and fluffy.
10. Once the cakes are completely cool, frost the top of one cake layer with cream cheese frosting. Place the second cake layer on top and frost the top and sides of the cake with the remaining frosting.
11. Slice and serve the Decadent Black Velvet Cake Delight, and enjoy!
