TEA BUNS

Ingredients :

  • 3 cups all purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons yeast
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 large egg
  • ¹/² cup melted butter

METHOD:

Step 1- In a bowl, add 1 tbs sugar, yeast and warm milk (lukewarm). Mix and cover for 5 minutes to  proof. In the yeast mixture, add egg, melted butter and mix.

Step 2- Add flour, salt, sugar (remaining 1tbs) to the yeast mixture and mix well. Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead for 10 minutes or until the dough is smooth.

Step 3- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it and keep in a warm place for about 45 minutes or until it doubled in size. Punch down the dough to release the air, roll the dough into small balls and place them in a greased baking dish, cover it and let it rise the second time

Step 4- Bake at 180°C for 15 - 20 minutes or till golden brown, Brush the rolls with butter immediately after taking them out of the oven.
