Chocolate Orange Cavity Cake (Eggless)
Ingredients:
- 1 and 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup cocoa powder
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup water
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 1 tablespoon white vinegar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Zest of 1 orange
- 1/2 cup dark chocolate chips
For the Chocolate Ganache:
- 1/2 cup dark chocolate, chopped
- 1/4 cup heavy cream
- Zest of 1 orange (optional, for garnish)
Directions:
Preheat Oven:
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a cavity cake pan.
Mix Dry Ingredients:
In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
Combine Wet Ingredients:
In another bowl, mix water, vegetable oil, white vinegar, vanilla extract, and orange zest.
Combine Wet and Dry Mixtures:
Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Fold in the chocolate chips.
Bake:
Pour the batter into the prepared cavity cake pan. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Prepare Chocolate Ganache:
While the cake is cooling, prepare the chocolate ganache by melting chocolate and mixing it with heated heavy cream. Let it cool slightly.
Pour Ganache:
Once the cake is completely cooled, pour the chocolate ganache over the cake. Garnish with orange zest if desired.
