    1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
    1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
    1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
    1 teaspoon salt
    2 cups granulated sugar
    2 large eggs
    1 cup whole milk
    1/2 cup vegetable oil
    2 teaspoons vanilla extract
    1 cup boiling water
For the Milk Chocolate Buttercream:
    1 cup unsalted butter, softened
    3 cups powdered sugar, sifted
1/2 cup milk chocolate, melted and cooled
2-3 tablespoons whole milk or heavy cream
    1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

Preheat Oven and Prepare Pans: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans, lining the bottoms with parchment paper.

    Make the Cake Batter:

In a large bowl, sift together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
In another large bowl, whisk together sugar, eggs, milk, oil, and vanilla until well combined.
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
Carefully stir in the boiling water. The batter will be thin.

    Bake the Cake:

Pour the batter evenly into the prepared pans.
Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Allow the cakes to cool in the pans for 10 minutes, then transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely.

    Make the Milk Chocolate Buttercream:
In a large bowl, beat the softened butter until creamy.
Gradually add the powdered sugar, beating well.
Mix in the melted milk chocolate and vanilla extract.
Add milk or cream as needed to achieve a smooth, spreadable consistency.

    Assemble the Cake:

Place one cake layer on your serving plate. Spread a layer of buttercream on top.
Top with the second cake layer.
Frost the top and sides of the cake with the remaining buttercream.
Serve: Serve the cake at room temperature for the best flavor and texture.

Tips

Cake Flour: For a softer cake, you can use cake flour instead of all-purpose flour.
Cocoa Powder: Use good-quality cocoa powder for the best chocolate flavor.
Boiling Water: The boiling water helps to intensify the chocolate flavor and create a moist cake.
Cooling: Ensure the cakes are completely cool before frosting to prevent the buttercream from melting.
Enjoy your Chocolate Cake with Milk Chocolate Buttercream! This cake is perfect for celebrations, special occasions, or just a delightful treat to satisfy your chocolate cravings.
